At home in coronavirus lockdown, and unable to photograph people other than my two housemates, I have been photographing still lifes instead. I have been particulalrly interested in shooting trainers, and bought these all black Adidas Superstars for their monochromatic, stylised look. They were shot on a sheet of black perspex to create the reflections, and for this shot I used red and blue gels on the lights to further stylise the shot and take advantage of the fact that a black shoe is a blank canvas, it will take on any colour that you light it with.
